As you might have noticed, the Veipa Cray site is going through some major construction. Mostly resurfacing, and I think we’re putting in a bypass or a tollbooth or something.
We’ve locked Tony into a dungeon with a stack of software manuals and forced him to redesign everything. Occasionally one of us will call him up and make him put in 16 hours to change a font and then call him back and make him change it back. Meanwhile the rest of us are out and about enjoying the insanely nice weather. I’m pretty sure he’s forgotten what the sun looks like. We’re dicks like that.
Much of the site is now functional, and the rest of it will be up soon, assuming Tony hasn’t passed out in a pool of Red Bull and discarded javascript. So be patient, down a martini or three and stay with us. We’ll be up and running before you know it.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our show at the Risque Cafe Saturday. Despite waves of inebriated Cubs fans pouring down Clark Street in a variety of interesting directions (Scott got free hugs!), the show went off without a hitch. We managed our whole set without breaking anything important or accidentally decapitating a waitress. Pictures will soon follow.
No dates set yet but we’ll be out and about again soon. Right now we’re focused on writing some new material.
Sure, to the casual observer it might seem like two shows in might be a little early to head back to the woodshed, but trust me; we’ve been playing this stuff so long together that it almost qualifies as classic rock. Plus, we need something new so people can tell us they liked the old Veipa Cray better - you know, before we sold out. No word yet on when Robert is cutting his hair.
As always, we’ll keep you posted.

We’re going live again twofold. First, if you’re reading this, then you’ve noticed the sleeping giant that is VeipaCray.com is finally up and running.
Second, and more importantly, we’re playing a FREE show at the Risque Cafe in Wrigleyville . It’s risque, it’s a cafe, it’s likely someone will break something irreplaceable before we leave. Good times.
Risque Cafe is at 3419 N. Clark, just south of Wrigley Field near iO.

Holy cow, it’s finally happened. We’re playing out Aug. 13th at the Elbo Room.
The fact that we’re doing this before we’ve done other important stuff like put our website together or get this blog to where people can read it isn’t going to slow us down.
If you’re reading this after the fact (as almost everyone will be), fret not. We’ve got other shows on the horizon, which we’ll be announcing as they happen.
If, by some miracle of modern science this gets out to The People before Wednesday, we’re playing at the Elbo Room, 2871 Lincoln Ave., at around 10:30. If Fate has brought you to this blog, we advise that you do NOT tempt it. Be there, or be some sort of equilateral parallelogram.

Who is Veipa Cray?
Actually, we don’t know. But for now, we are Veipa Cray.
Robert plays guitar and sings. Scott plays keys, trombone, and sings. Tony plays drums, percussion, and drinks. Ben (me) plays bass and writes obnoxious blog posts what make little sense and angry up the blood.
After 187 years in the woodshed, our demos are done. They will be posted post-haste and give a little taste of what the Veipa Cray sound is all about.
We’ve also booked some shows in the very near future so you can come see us and have your little faces rocked clean off.
Meanwhile, grab yourself an RSS feed of this blog to keep up on all our doings, so that when we’re super famous you can say “I knew them when…” and no one will ever again question your indie cred. You know you want to.
